PickMyBG is a free web app that gives you personalized solo board game recommendations based on your submitted preferences.
The goal? Help solo gamers discover titles they’re likely to enjoy, based on affinities with thousands of other users—all while keeping things private and user-controlled.
Each recommendation links to its BoardGameGeek page and includes its rank in the 2024 People’s Choice Top 200 Solo Games (if applicable).
Existing lists are great, but I wanted something dynamic that adapts to individual tastes and user affinities—while respecting privacy.
The app is free to use.
I’d love your feedback and ideas for improving it. You can also learn from other users’ experiences.
👉 Join the discussion on the PickMyBG thread on BGG .
Once you log in, just add your top 20 favorite solo games—like in the example below:
After that, click “PickMyBG Top Picks” in the menu to instantly receive personalized recommendations, as shown here:
As you can see, the recommended game #14 is actually ranked #1126 by BGG for solo play. It was recommended to you by a single user who shares strong affinity with your picks—meaning they have many top games in common with you.
If you reconnect next month—or even in the next hour—you might receive a different recommendation list. That’s because everything is computed in real time, based on the latest inputs from other users.
You can explore even more suggestions by classifying your current recommendations using the available tags (like 🎯, 🏅, 🚫, ❓). Each new input helps refine your taste profile.

I like it. You can still go see the games you moved to each category (on my radar, fun for me, not for me), and so the left overs are the games that you might enjoy but never looked much into, which I would say is the whole point of this.1 Jun 2025
Fun concept. Added my list. The more lists the better, I imagine3 Jun 2025

Good work! And great tool. I clicked through my recommendations and, while I already owned or knew about most of them, I found one new game that I ordered from the geekmarket cheaply enough, looks like I might really enjoy that one.4 Jun 2025
